At the Brisbane International in 2025, Novak Djokovic, who is presently placed fifth in the ATP rankings, will attempt to make a return.
Due to an ailment that also forced him to withdraw from the Paris Masters, Novak Djokovic will not be participating in the ATP Finals. Only in 2024 did Djokovic win Olympic gold, and he is currently the defending ATP Final champion. Djokovic had stated in an interview with Sport Klub that he will return in 2025 to win his 25th Major.
Jannik Sinner’s coach, Darren Cahill, referred to Djokovic as “a legend” and cautioned players about him in an interview with the Italian media outlet Corriere della Sera.
“Djokovic is not doomed, in my opinion. He would not have won 24 Slams if he weren’t a legend, and legends always manage to overcome adversity. He proved it by winning the gold medal at the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris. Sinner’s intentions? Although finishing first at the end of the year is an amazing accomplishment, we won’t be overly concerned with the ranking. Instead, we need to improve our physical and technical skills for the Slams, beginning with the Australian Open,” he stated.
2024 was a mixed year for the Serbian star. He advanced to the Australian Open semifinals, where he suffered his first AUS Open defeat since 2018 after falling to Jannik Sinner in four sets. He then lost to Casper Ruud in the Monte Carlo Masters semi-final in March after losing to Luca Nardi in the third round of the Indian Wells Masters. He lost in the third round of the Italian Open.
He suffered an injury in the previous round of the French Open and withdrew from the quarterfinals. Carlos Alcaraz defeated him in the Wimbledon final. In the Paris Olympics, he defeated Alcaraz to win his first Olympic gold. He lost badly against Alexei Popyrin in the third round of the US Open.
He will make his comeback in 2025, at the Brisbane International, which takes place prior to the Australian Open, and is presently placed sixth in the ATP rankings.
