In 2021, Cristiano Ronaldo returned to Europe for a second stint with Manchester United, his previous club.
The globe was startled by Cristiano Ronaldo’s signing to Al Nassr on December 30, 2022. Ronaldo, who is regarded as one of the best football players in history, agreed to a contract for 200 million euros a year, which included a 90 million euro salary guarantee. Additional revenue from sponsorship and commercial deals would increase his total yearly compensation to 200 million euros.
However, it now appears that Ronaldo may be leaving Al Nassr, with rival team Al Hilal being mentioned as a potential destination. Ronaldo is reportedly being considered by Al Hilal as a replacement for Neymar, who has been dealing with ailments and is also expected to sign a contract with Inter Miami during the next transfer window.
Al Hilal hopes to complete the deal in January, but the move might occur during the winter transfer window.
Ronaldo hasn’t won a championship since joining Al Nassr. He has made 14 appearances this season, tallying three assists and ten goals.
A lot of football fans will also be hoping that he will relocate to Europe so they can see him play in the Champions League one final time before he retires. He rejoined Manchester United for a second stint in 2021, his final club in Europe.
However, it ended abruptly when Ronaldo lost the favor of Erik ten Hag, the head coach at the time. In a contentious interview with British broadcaster Piers Morgan, the Portugal player attacked Ten Hag and the club’s leadership.
Neymar’s trip to Saudi Arabia, meanwhile, hasn’t gone as planned. On August 15, 2023, Al Hilal allegedly paid PSG 90 million euros. Additionally, it is reported that he receives 150 million euros annually from the club. However, the Brazilian has hardly played for the team due to his ongoing injuries. In Saudi Arabia, the Brazilian has also come under fire from Al Hilal supporters who have pointed out his lack of availability since joining the team.
